Translation and Interpreting
Being fluent in several languages helps and singles you out, and my knowledge of English, Russian, and French has certainly been one my USPs. I have been involved in a variety of projects as a translator or interpreter, and below are the most notable of those:
2003 – working on the 1st English issue of The Herald of Europe (Russian to English, uncredited; read the final version of the article on the cinema of Matthew Barney)
June 2005 – interpreter, BBC Northwest Tonight and The M.E.N. report (English and Russian, bilingual)
October 2005 – translator, BBC File on Four (French to English)
2007 – interpreting and translating duties, Latitude Group Ltd (Russian, French, English)
Language pairs I use:
English to Russian;
Russian to English;
French to English;
French to Russian.
I also read in German, Italian, and Latin (the latter is courtesy of my specialisation in Medieval and Early Modern History).
I specialise in Arts and Humanities, and also Media and Search Marketing. I also translate literary and academic works. Check out Translations category on Los Cuadernos de Julia, or my translation from English into Russian of an extract from Slavoj Zizek’s In Defense of Lost Causes. I can also advise on the website translation and content optimisation in English, Russian, and French. If you are interested in my services, do not hesitate to drop me a line.
